You can follow the steps listed below to start migrating data from QuickBooks products (Quicken/Reckon/Intuit). If you are unclear about anything or have any questions please feel free to submit a service ticket
Automated import of transaction data isn’t yet available. Saasu Data Services can help you migrate your data at a cost of US$80 per 100 transactions from QuickBooks to Saasu.
It’s worth reading the one page start guide before you begin.
Importing Data
- Export the Contacts, Chart of Accounts, and Inventory Items from QuickBooks to spreadsheet files (CSV).
- Using a spreadsheet program you need to reformat your columns in these files into Saasu’s import formats. Information for each type of data can be found in the help note about importing data.
- It is very important to check your data in these files doesn’t have disallowed characters such as comma’s. As an example comma’s can’t be used as spreadsheet files are Comma Separated Files which means comma’s are used in these files to act as the separator of data into columns of information. Most good accounting software programs know and allow for this already in their export formats.
- Save these updated files keeping them as spreadsheet files.
- Goto Contacts > Import to bring in your customer and supplier spreadsheet files.
- Goto Accounts > Import to bring in your chart of accounts spreadsheet file.
- Goto Items > Import to bring in your Inventory Items spreadsheet file.
Capturing other Data
- Enter the closing balances from QuickBooks into the opening balance area in Saasu. Goto Accounts > Opening Balances
- Enter any unpaid Purchases or Sales into Saasu.
- Go to Opening Balances for Inventory and enter as/if required. Goto Items > Opening Balances
- Go to Settings and click on Main and work through each link updating settings to represent your company or organisations details. Pay particular attention to the Tax registration and date.
- Work through the rest of the Settings area and make any changes necessary.
