Payroll Tax Calculation Improvements
Tax calculations are completed for AU payroll and most components work in many countries. Employee Deductions Tracking - Tracking of extra superannuation, charity payments and other payroll components through the ability to add your own custom “pay items” to payroll transactions and accordingly payslips. Contract/Award/Registered Agreement Tracking - Create contracts/awards and registered agreements to attach to employees. Employee Classifications can also be created. Both will display in payslips (e.g. As per AU WorkChoice reform requirements). Taxable & Non-taxable Pay Items - Pay Items can be toggled between Taxable and Not Taxable. Entitlements Tracking - Accrual of annual, personal and other leave related employee entitlements.
Where you had Union Fees or Salary Sacrifice entered in a payroll transaction in our previous release, this amount has been added to the Base Salary (or Base Pay Hourly) amount in the new release and removed at the new Non-taxable Deductions area of the payroll transaction. This is because now the workflow is to enter the Base Salary (or Base Pay Hourly) amount first in the screen and then deduct these Non-taxable Deductions amounts from them further down the screen. Under the old system you used to enter “Base Pay” without these amounts. Net it is the same it is just the work flow order that is changing.

Inventory Extensions
If you have an inventory item that was originally ‘I buy this item’ and ‘I sell this item’ and you later changed it to also include the setting ‘I Inventory this item’ then the stock on hand may not calculate correctly. This is because in inventory “Trading/STS” mode Saasu doesn’t track stock on hand but it does in “Inventory” mode where stock is initially booked to an Asset account before being sold. This use case will be handled in our next release. If you are looking to correct this now it would require re-entering the transactions which used the inventory item before it became of the type ‘I inventory this item’.
PDF Emailing
We highly recommend you BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) yourself to keep a record of the e-mail sent. Also, actively invite your customers and suppliers to add Saasu to their Friends list or Contacts/Address list in their email client. Then correspondence you send them isn’t likely to be sent to their junk or spam box. We note these reasons can be the cause of emails not getting through. a) If you send an invoice to a hotmail email address and the recipient hasn’t got your “send” email address in their hotmail address book then the invoice could go to the junk email box. b) Sender or receiver ISP thinks the email is spam/junk and blocks or marks it as spam/junk e-mail c) Receivers virus software or in-built email client spam filters marks the incoming invoice as junk e-mail.
